Project Description
Field staff will conduct local assessments to determine the best location for a demonstration farm while participating in local language training. After purchasing land, they will set up a residence and field office. For the first growing season they will learn from local people what specific techniques are used in the area for agriculture and small livestock. They will also visit dryland research centers to learn what new techniques and starter materials are available. Working with the local people's suggestions, field staff will grow improved crops and demonstrate new dryland farming techniques.
